Volunteer Recruitment Fair

Volunteering Collage

We’re delighted to announce our Volunteer Recruitment Fair happening on the 29th September at our Peterborough HQ. We would like to invite you to drop in to see us anytime between 2pm and 7pm to discuss local volunteering opportunities that will suit you and your time.

Whether you have one hour to spare a week or two hours a month, you can use that time to do something really rewarding for a local deafblind person. There will be plenty of Deafblind UK staff available on the day to discuss suitable volunteering opportunities over a slice of cake and a cup of tea. You’ll even be able to apply there and then for a position with us, with staff on hand to help you through the process and answer any questions.

By volunteering with us you can be a part of something great and make a real difference to a persons life, our deafblind members often tell us that their volunteers are their lifeline. You can be a part of this and change the lives of local deafblind people by volunteering; from simply making phone calls to supporting them on a more personal level through programmes like our befriending scheme.

Ruby told us about her experience as a volunteer befriender:
‘Being able to befriend a member and seeing the positive difference I was making in their life simply by being a friend to them has been very touching to me. It makes me feel very proud that I was able to make someone’s day with my presence and friendship. It has been wonderful to build a connection with somebody who is often isolated and to be able to bring new conversations to them.’

Join us on the 29th of September and like Ruby, you can make a positive difference to a deafblind persons life. If you have any questions about the day please do not hesitate to get in touch. Call us on 01733 358 100 or email
We look forward to seeing you there!
