Payroll Giving

Deafblind Member and Communicator GuideGiving through your pay

Payroll Giving (sometimes known as Workplace Giving or Give As You Earn) is a great way to make regular donations to Deafblind UK straight from your pay and the only way that your donation to us can automatically go up to 45% further.

How it works

By giving to Deafblind UK regularly from your pay, we automatically receive the tax you would have paid on the donation (your payroll department sort this out for us).

Workplace Giving is also the only way for anyone paying 40% or 45% tax to give us all their tax on a donation automatically, so if you earn over £42,385 GROSS per year then this is the best way for you to support us tax effectively. Some examples are below:

You donate to us on           We receive                  We receive                    We receive
a monthly basis                   (20% tax payer)          (40% tax payer)            (45% tax payer)
£5                                           £6.25                             £8.33                             £9.09
£10                                         £12.50                          £16.67                            £18.18
£15                                         £18.75                          £24.99                            £27.27
£20                                         £25                               £33.32                            £36.36

To give in this way, your Employer will need to operate a scheme, if you aren’t sure that they do, fill in the form anyway and we will let you know if they don’t and perhaps we can suggest to them that they introduce one.

How your support helps

£5.00 could pay for a volunteer to spend 2 hours a day with a deafblind person every month
£10.00 could pay for an hour of vital support each month from our information and advice line
£20.00 could pay for our specialist digital inclusion officer to visit a deafblind person every month
