We rely on our generous supporters to help us make a difference to deafblind people. With nearly 400,000 people living with dual sensory loss in the UK, we have our work cut out but every pound we raise helps us to get a bit closer to those who really need us.
£15 could pay for an hour and a half of phone support for those who need it most
£30 could pay for a day of companionship for a deafblind person
£60 could train a volunteer in deafblind communication
How can you help?
Take up a challenge
If you like to push yourself to the limit then why not support deafblind people in the process? Sporting and challenge events take place across the country so get your running shoes/swimming costume/skydiving kit on and raise some money.
No time to run a marathon or do a sponsored sky dive? One of the easiest ways to raise money is by asking your local shop/pub/café to have a Deafblind UK collection pot on their counter.
If you would like to raise money to support people with dual sensory loss, our friendly fundraising team are on hand to guide you through the process. Contact us today.
“Running the London Marathon for Deafblind UK was one of the best days of my life. The main reason I wanted to achieve the distance was not only to challenge myself, raise money for an extremely good cause but also to set my mind to something and focus my determination. I’d be lying if the last two miles weren’t the hardest thing I’ve ever done but the satisfaction of finishing wearing my medal around my home city was all worth the six months of dedication and training. With enough time, training and commitment, I do believe anyone has the capability to complete a marathon.”
