What is Connections NI?
The Connections NI project (funded by The Big Lottery Fund) aims to enable older, isolated deafblind people living in central Belfast, Newtonabbey, Coleraine, Craigavon, Downpatrick, and Newry & Mourne to connect with activities and services within their community. The project aims to increase their independence, confidence, and self-esteem, which in turn reduces their experience of isolation and improves their physical and mental well being..
The project also aims to raise awareness of the issues surrounding deafblindness and provide support/respite for our members/families/carers, many of whom are older and isolated themselves.
