About our facilities

The Deafblind UK conference centre in Peterborough is the perfect place to hold your meeting or event. With 11 rooms holding anything from 2 to 200 people and unlimited refreshments in a fully accessible building, we have something to suit everyone.

Surrounding attractive gardens, our light and spacious rooms all offer something different and can be hired individually or as a package for bigger events or to provide breakout rooms/dining areas as required.

Our Rooms

In addition to having their traditional names that regular customers will know them as, Deafblind UK marked our 90th year by giving each of our conferencing rooms a subtitled dedication to a key figure in the history of deafblindness.

Conference suite

Deafblind UK conference suite cabaret styleOur full suite is ideal for large conferences or events. It has a spacious stage and air conditioning and is close to the coffee/break out area. It benefits from plenty of natural light with doors opening onto our sensory garden, which guests can enjoy any time.

Meeting rooms

Room 1 / Arthur Sculthorpe room

Room 1This is a spacious meeting room with a stage and direct access to our sensory garden. A partition wall can be opened up to join rooms 1 and 2 together. Alternatively, rooms 1, 2 and 3 can be opened up to provide our full conference suite.

Room 2 / Arthur Sculthorpe room

Room 2 This is a light meeting room with direct access to our sensory garden. A partition wall can be opened up to join rooms 1 and 2, or rooms 2 and 3 together. Alternatively, rooms 1, 2 and 3 can be opened up to provide our full conference suite.

Room 3 / Arthur Sculthorpe room

Room 3This is a spacious meeting room which can be joined to room 3 for a bigger events. Alternatively, rooms 1, 2 and 3 can be opened up to provide our full conference suite.

Kingfisher room / Peter Skivington room

A large room, filled with plenty of natural light and views of our sensory garden. A partition wall can be opened to join the Kingfisher room to the Mandarin room for a bigger space. The Kingfisher room also features a phone, so if someone can’t attend your meeting in person and wants to phone in remotely, they can do so.

Mandarin room / Laura Bridgman room

The Mandarin room is perfect on its own for smaller meetings or, we can open the partition wall to join it to the Kingfisher room.

Hampton room / Dorrie Moore room

A mid-sized meeting room with optional direct access to the Swan room which can be used as a break-out room.

Cygnet room / Helen Keller room

A mid-sized meeting room which offers great flexibility. The Cygnet room also features a phone, so if someone can’t attend your meeting in person and wants to phone in remotely, they can do so.

Backstage / Father Cyril Axelrod room

Ideal as a meeting room or as a break out room for the conference suite, Backstage has optional direct wheelchair access to the stage in the conference suite. Backstage also features a phone, so if someone can’t attend your meeting in person and wants to phone in remotely, they can do so.

Swan room / Samuel Grindley Howe room

The Swan room is perfect for smaller meetings or can be used as a break out room for larger events. It has optional direct access to the Hampton room.

Mallard room / Haben Girma room

The Mallard room is one of our more intimate meeting rooms but also has the flexibility of different layout options. This is also an ideal break out room for larger events.

Heron room / Dorothy Entwhistle room

Perfect for an intimate meeting, this comfortable room seats six people around a boardroom style table.
