On 22nd April, five runners will take on the ultimate challenge to raise money for Deafblind UK…the Virgin London Marathon.
We spoke to Shopping Centre Manager, David about why he’s running for Deafblind UK.
Have you run a marathon before?
What made you want to run the London Marathon?
“It’s something I’ve always wanted to do”
What motivates you to train?
“To compensate for my love of chocolate, crisps and biscuits – plus I like to challenge myself!”
How is training going to date?
“Ok(ish) training has made me appreciate how far 26.2 miles is!”
What made you want to run for Deafblind UK?
“I manage the Serpentine Green Shopping Centre in Peterborough and Deafblind UK is a charity that we want to work closely with in 2018. It benefits people who suffer from a disability that not many people think of.”
How are you planning to raise the money?
“Through sponsorship and through companies I work with; colleagues, friends and family – I’m also planning a charity Gin Night!”
What do you enjoy doing away from work?
“Eating and drinking and to compensate for that, trekking, going to the gym and travelling.”
