Our social group volunteers give people the chance to engage with others and to be a part of something special. They help deafblind people to strengthen their social networks and provide an opportunity to get out and have fun.
This role is varied and can involve anything from driving members to the groups, talking to them and helping them to take part in activities to arranging the activities – or even the group! After training from us, volunteers will be able to provide communication and guiding support to those group members who need it.
Our volunteers are on hand at each social group meeting. These are usually monthly and last for a couple of hours. Social groups operate around the country, click here to search for social group volunteering opportunities in your area.
