Captions are available throughout the Deafblind Conference and there are two different options, depending on your preference and operating system. For the best experience, we recommend using the Chrome browser.
Hubilo Closed Captions
The event is streamed through the ‘Hubilo’ platform. Hubilo provides a Closed Caption feature for attendees to view during the live sessions.
This is available on:
- Windows PC’s
- Apple Mac’s (Using the Chrome browser only)
- Android operating systems
To enable captions, join the talk that you want to watch and select the CC button once the session is live. You may need to refresh the page to enable captions.
If your bandwidth fluctuates, you may experience a delay between the Closed Captions and the audio. Should this happen, refresh the page or pause and replay the video.
Please note that Hubilo Closed Captions are not available when using the Safari browser or when viewing in picture-in-picture mode (PiP).
Chrome Live Captions
Alternatively, you can use the Live Captions feature on the Chrome browser. This is available on:
- Windows PC’s
- Apple Mac’s
- Android operating systems
To enable Chrome Live Captions:
- Open Chrome
- At the top right, click the three dots and select Settings
- At the bottom of the Settings page, click Accessibility > (Live) Captions
- Turn on Live Captions
Android Live Captions

iOS Live Captions
Some iOS devices running iOS 16 or higher have Live Captions as part of their in-built accessibility options. This is available on:
