Impact Report 2025 – 26

When support changes what is possible

Deafblindness can make everyday life more challenging, but it should never define what someone can achieve.

At Deafblind UK, we help people living with deafblindness build confidence, maintain independence and stay connected through specialist support, technology, education, research and campaigning.

Our 2025–26 Impact Report shares the difference we are making and the possibilities we are creating together.

Our impact at a glance

  • 4,346 people supported with dual sensory loss

  • 38,700+ direct support interventions delivered

  • 9,620 befriending calls made to combat isolation

  • 8,864 wellbeing calls made

  • 374 volunteers giving their time and expertise

  • 1,671 schools reached with deafblind awareness resources

  • 303 accessible social opportunities listed on our webmap

Behind every number is a person, a family or a community whose life has been touched by our work.

Creating change beyond individual support

Our impact reaches far beyond the people we support directly. We are helping professionals better understand deafblindness, working with technology developers to improve accessibility, contributing to research and ensuring the voices of deafblind people reach decision-makers.

This year, people using our support reported an average wellbeing score rising from 2.4 out of 5 to 4.6 out of 5 by the end of support.

Because meaningful impact is not simply what we do. It is what becomes possible as a result.

Looking ahead: A Century of Change

Founded in 1928, Deafblind UK is approaching its Centenary in 2028 with an ambition to create an even greater impact.

Our £5 million A Century of Change campaign will help secure the future of The Lodge, a community of 50 specialist independent living apartments in West London, alongside the development of the UK’s first dedicated Deafblind Rehabilitation and Training Centre.

Together, we can help more people live with independence, confidence and connection.

Be part of the difference.
