All Councils in England and Wales have to follow certain guidelines to support people who are deafblind. This includes providing a specialist deafblind assessment to people who require or request one.
This should assess the need for communication support, one-to one human contact, social interaction and emotional wellbeing, support with mobility assistive technology and habilitation/rehabilitation.
Our fully qualified team can work with you to carry out deafblind assessments, in line with the Deafblind Guidance in The Care Act (2014). We will then complete a comprehensive written report which details the needs for:
- Social interaction
- Communication
- Movement,
- Orientation and mobility
- Emotional wellbeing
- Human contact
- Assistive technology
- Rehabilitation
