Recipe for success

  • Choose a venue: host a tea party, bake sale, or coffee morning at home, your workplace or local community space.
  • Pick a date: most Cream Tea Jamborees will be taking place during Deafblind Awareness week (22-28 June 2026), but you can host whenever suits you this summer.
  • Make it a jamboree: use the fundraising kit and downloadable resources to make your Cream Tea Jamboree a proper party.
  • Scones a plenty: make sure you have lots of tea, scones, jam, cream and other sweet treats ready for your guests.
  • Invites: share your scones with friends old and new, it's impossible not to be friends once you've shared a pot of tea.
  • Raise some dough: every cake, scone and 'what are those' helps support deafblind people across the UK!

Make a one-off donation

If you would like to support Deafblind UK but can't host or attend a Cream Tea Jamboree, you can make a donation. Your donation will enable us to provide practical and emotional support to those living with deafblindness.

How your support makes a difference

Donations from every Cream Tea Jamboree, big and small, help raise vital funds to support the 450,000+ people in the UK living with deafblindness; giving them the advice, skills and companionship they need to live better with sight and hearing loss.

  • £50 could enable us to respond to 10 requests for life-changing support through the Deafblind UK helpline.
  • £100 could allow 5 people to receive the Braille version of Open Hand for a year – a magazine written and designed especially for people who are deafblind.
  • £150 could fund life-changing assistive technology and technical support, allowing people with dual sensory loss to reconnect with their family and the world around them.
  • £200 could give someone 10 hours of specialist wellbeing support, allowing them to live independently and enjoy life to the full.
