Did you know that 60% of UK adults don't have a will? We understand, it's a difficult conversation to start. But, by having a will in place you can ensure that your estate will benefit the people and causes you care about most after you're gone. It can also make sure that important arrangements such as the guardianship of children or your funeral wishes are clear, avoiding unnecessary stress and red-tape for those you leave behind.

Logo: In partnership with Octopus LegacyThis February and March, Deafblind UK has partnered with leading will writers Octopus Legacy so you can write or update your will for free*.

Creating a simple will would usually cost around £150-300 - and can cost as much as £1000+ for something more complicated. But this spring the cost of your will is covered by us.

While many supporters choose to include a gift in their will to Deafblind UK, there’s no obligation to do so when using this service. Not only will writing your will make life easier for the people you leave behind, but including a gift could help us build a brighter future for people who are deafblind.

How your legacy can change lives

A gift of £400 could provide a full course of specialist counselling for someone trying to come to terms with their sight and hearing loss.

A gift of £3,000 could allow 150 people to receive the Braille version of Open Hand for a year – a magazine written and designed especially for people who are deafblind.

A residuary gift of 2% could fund life-changing assistive technology and technical support, allowing people with dual sensory loss to reconnect with their family and the world around them.

A residuary gift of 5% could cover the cost of a trained helpline operator for a year – providing a vital lifeline for our members when they need it most, or simply a listening ear when they are feeling lonely.
