Meet Catarina Rivera, keynote speaker at this year’s Deafblind Convention!

Portrait of Catarina Rivera. She has long dark brown hair that falls just below her shoulders and is smiling.

We are delighted to welcome Catarina Rivera, deafblind advocate and DEI consultant, as our keynote speaker at the Deafblind Convention!

Catarina’s speech, ‘The future of work must prioritise disability inclusion’, will focus on the myths that block leaders from focusing on disability in the workplace.

The Deafblind Convention is a free online event, and an opportunity to learn, share and connect with other people living with deafblindness. All of the talks will be available to watch on demand after the event – so even if you can’t make it on the day, you can still take part! Please click here to register for a free ticket.

Catarina works with companies to improve accessibility and inclusion, retain employees, and design better products. She has a BA from Duke University, an MSEd from Bank Street College of Education, and an MPH from Hunter College, and is also a Certified Professional in Accessibility Core Competencies (IAAP).

Catarina has worn hearing aids from a young age and was diagnosed with progressive vision loss at 17 years old. She is a member of RespectAbility’s National Disability Speakers Bureau and KeyNote Women’s Global Speakers Directory, and is the founder of Blindish Latina.

Visit Catarina’s website to watch her TEDx talk and find out more.
