Walk, jog or run the Lake District Challenge for Deafblind UK!
100 / 50 / Marathon or 25 km challenge
Walk, Jog, or Run the Lake District Challenge and take on England’s finest countryside at your pace. Choose your distance – the full challenge Kendal loop, or a half challenge, quarter challenge, 10km or our new Lake District Marathon distance. Test yourself on a fantastic Ultra Challenge – suitable for all experience levels – and you’ll get the best support & hospitality all the way. Our Challenge Base Camp is in Kendal. From there it’s a full challenge anticlockwise loop taking in a couple of tough hills to Ambleside, a half way point by Lake Windermere, forests, and nature reserves – with some stunning views en route – before a huge welcome and celebration back at Base Camp after a momentous journey. Push yourself further in the stunning Lake District for Deafblind UK!
Choosing to take on the Lake District Challenge and fundraise for Deafblind UK will enable us to continue providing vital support to thousands of people living with dual sensory loss each year.
What’s included?
- Pre-event training guides and access to the challenge app
- Hot meals, drinks and snacks en-route
- Experienced marshals, medics and massage teams at rest stops
- Fully-signed route
- Finisher’s medal, t-shirt and a glass of bubbly
- Shuttle buses and transfers
Fundraising options:
With £3 million needing to be raised each year to fund Deafblind UK’s full range of services, the difference your support makes cannot be overstated. Every £25 that you raise could pay for another hour of specialist wellbeing support for someone who is deafblind.
Choose your challenge distance and fund your entry in one of three ways:
- Self-funding – you pay the full cost of the event place with no minimum fundraising commitment – just raise as much as you can!
- Charity sponsorship – you pay a reduced registration fee and, providing you reach the fundraising goal, Deafblind UK will cover the cost of your event place
- Mixed funding – you pay half of the event place cost yourself and, providing you reach the fundraising goal, Deafblind UK will pay the balance of the event place cost
Please note: when taking part in Ultra Challenge events you are asked to pledge to raise a sponsorship target when registering for ‘charity sponsorship’ and ‘mixed funding’ options. The sponsorship target depends on the distance of your challenge.
