Ensure the people and causes you care about are provided for.
Writing a will is one of the most important things we can do to ensure our wishes are carried out after we're gone, but less than 40% of UK adults have an up-to-date will in place.
This September and October, we’ve made it even easier for you to write or update your will and tick this important task off your to-do-list. We’ve partnered with expert estate planners, Octopus Legacy, so you can write or update your will for free.

We hope that by using our free will writing service you will consider remembering Deafblind UK in your will too, and your gift will help us continue to improve the lives of deafblind people for years to come.
How to claim your free will
Find the right will for you. You can write your will:
- Online: Visit the Octopus Legacy Deafblind UK webpage
- Over the phone: Call 020 4525 3605 and quote "Deafblind UK" to book an appointment
- At home or in-branch: Call 020 4525 3605 and quote "Deafblind UK" to book an appointment
Not sure if you need a will? Take this short quiz to find out. Or, join the upcoming webinar hosted by Octopus Legacy on Tuesday 6th October, 12pm - 1pm: Get your invite link here
Annette's Story
"As a deafblind person, we don't fit into the deaf mainstream services or the blind mainstream services. Without Deafblind UK, it would have been horrendous."
"Because Deafblind UK has been a constant in my life, I'm able to live my life in the way that I do."
Deafblindness affects 1 in every 150 people in the UK and, by 2035 it is estimated that over 600,000 people will be living with combined sight and hearing loss. Your gift in your will, no matter how big or small, will allow us to continue supporting people like Annette for years to come.
Thank you for considering including Deafblind UK in your will.
How your gift can change lives
A gift of £500 could pay for 25 hours of specialist wellbeing support for a deafblind member, enabling them to enjoy activities in their local area.
A gift of £3,000 could allow 150 people to receive the Braille version of Open Hand for a year – a magazine written and designed especially for people who are deafblind.
A residuary gift of 2% could fund life-changing assistive technology and technical support, allowing people with dual sensory loss to reconnect with their family and the world around them.
A residuary gift of 5% could cover the cost of a trained helpline operator for a year – providing a vital lifeline for our members when they need it most, or simply a listening ear when they are feeling lonely.
