Deafblind UK Advisory Group – Your Voice, Your Experience, Your Future

Living with deafblindness brings unique experiences and challenges that only those who share this journey truly understand. At Deafblind UK, it’s vital that the voices of people living with deafblindness guide everything we do – from the services we provide to the campaigns we lead.

That’s why we’ve created the Deafblind UK Advisory Group – and we’d love for you to be part of it.

What is the Advisory Group?

The Advisory Group is made up of Deafblind UK members who work together with our staff to make sure our services truly reflect the needs and experiences of people who are deafblind.

The group:

  • Shares ideas, feedback, and concerns to improve and develop services.
  • Acts as a bridge between members, staff, and the wider community.
  • Represents the voice of members to raise awareness of deafblindness.
  • Works constructively with staff, respecting confidentiality and diversity.

Membership is open to anyone living with dual sensory loss. We want the group to reflect the full diversity of our community – different ages, backgrounds, and abilities.

The group will meet mostly online, with occasional opportunities to meet in person. Members will also have the chance to join other groups focusing on specific interests.

Why Join?

By being part of the Advisory Group, you can:

  • Connect with others who share your experiences.
  • Make your voice heard on the issues that matter most.
  • Help shape the future of Deafblind UK and the wider deafblind community.
