David Childs

Trustee

David became a Trustee in Autumn 2025. He is a Social Worker and conferred Associate Professor, he has worked in Senior Leadership and regulation in Higher Education.  He has worked with Social Work England, the Health and Care Professions Council and Universities in Quality improvement and governance.  In his former role of Head of College of Education and Social Work at Birmingham City University David was involved in the setting up of the Deafblind UK Education and Research Centre.  He has led through major restructure and transition and worked with Safeguarding and ensuring listening to the voice of citizens is embedded in services. David is also a foster carer and in his spare time enjoys walking, visiting Italy and cooking.
