Thames Bridges Trek 2024

Run, jog or hike the Thames Bridges Trek for Deafblind UK

Join 2500 walkers and trek 25km across the capital with unrivalled views of the London skyline and its landmarks. From a Putney Bridge start, it’s east towards the city, zig-zagging over 16 historic bridges – each with its own fascinating story. You’ll enjoy a mid-point rest stop at The Oval Cricket Ground for snacks & drinks before forging on. 25km later, beyond the majestic Tower Bridge, you’ll celebrate crossing the finish line in style with a party and afternoon picnic in Southwark Park.

Most will walk, many will jog, some will run: all will have a special reason to push themselves. You’ll be fully supported all the way and rewarded with an amazing sense of achievement knowing that you’ve made a big difference for people living with deafblindness.

Choosing to fundraise for Deafblind UK with your Thames Bridges Trek will enable us to continue providing vital support to thousands of people living with dual sensory loss each year.

What’s included?

  • Pre-event training guides and access to the challenge app
  • Hot meals, drinks and snacks en-route
  • Marshals, medics, podiatrists and massages
  • Fully-signed route
  • Finisher’s medal, t-shirt and a glass of bubbly

Fundraising options:

With £3 million needing to be raised each year to fund Deafblind UK’s full range of services, the difference your support makes cannot be overstated. Every £25 that you raise could pay for another hour of specialist wellbeing support for someone who is deafblind.

Your challenge, your way. There are three ways to fund your entry:

  • Self-funding – you pay the full cost of the event place with no minimum fundraising commitment – just raise as much as you can!
  • Charity sponsorship – you pay a reduced registration fee and, providing you reach the fundraising goal, Deafblind UK will cover the cost of your event place
  • Mixed funding – you pay half of the event place cost yourself and, providing you reach the fundraising goal, Deafblind UK will pay the balance of the event place cost

Please note: when taking part in Ultra Challenge events you are asked to pledge to raise a sponsorship target when registering for ‘charity sponsorship’ and ‘mixed funding’ options. The sponsorship target depends on the distance of your challenge – full challenge, half challenge or quarter challenge.
